One of the cinemas that are overrated or over publicized is Grand Cinemas in Festival City.  On the first week of its grand opening, my hubby and I reserved tickets via phone and booked VIP seats only to be greeted by staff who were inexperienced with the system; one made a new booking instead of the seats we originally booked and deleted our previous reserved seats. I’d get a Benetton shirt dress, ruffled chiffon top, and two Casual tops from Jeanswest at AED 170?  This is the best deal I’ve had in Dubai for ages.  There was DSF (Dubai Summer Festival)  Bought some tops and a black leather bag at a sweet price of AED 35.  But I never found such good finds with branded tops priced as low as AED 20 each! If you’re into classy yet affordable accessories, then you better head down to H&M before they’re all sold out.  I must admit, the first time i bought H&M accessories I almost swore to buy all my accessoriees from them.  But I am not a brand-loyal shopper.  I believe each brand has its own touch and some items I like, some are just not my preference. In today’s credit driven economy, one can’t laugh off the fact that the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” hits us one way or another.  This light spirited movie actually hits us with the hard truth: This is actually happening in today’s world.  There are really people who are sunk in debt from excessive shopping; both men and women.  Read more

Thursday night was all cheesy. Hubby and I celebrated a quite remarkable day at The Observatory in Harbor hotel at Dubai Marina.  The view was spectacular.  On the bar and lounge area you have a view of the sun setting in the horizon, making The Palm and the Atlantis hotel look absolutely majestic.  Read more

I used to laugh about this, joke around and raise my eyebrows at ladies who were affected by it.  Aaliyah has a song about it even.  I remember how my bestfriend back in the University didn’t want to see her boyfriend whenever she was about to have her period.  She’d be totally pissed off seeing him Read more

The one and only revolving restaurant in Dubai, and not to mention one of the oldest restaurants, Al Dawaar still has its charm.  Located at Hyatt Regency Hotel, along Shindagha Tunnel, 360 degree view of Dubai is what you will definitely see.  Along with the view is a bit of history on how Dubai started and how it’s going to be a few years from now.

If you enjoy interesting views such as of airplanes from gatwick airport hotels in the UK or of Paris from the top of the Eiffel tower, then you will enjoy this exceptional view. And what better way to enjoy it than by having a romantic meal for two?

Now this line would make you think of men’s toys like cars, gadgets, etc…   This morning, on my usual route toward work, I noticed an ad for Burger King with this Header “Only for Men”: 3 guys a la mafia style and a whopper.  I thought it was absolutely horrendous.  What on earth are they talking about?
