From 29th April to 2nd May, 2009 – Emirates NBD held an exclusive Mega Warehouse Sale at Dubai Airport Expo.  Yes it was massive; from appliances, electronics, accessories, jewelry down to suitcases.  This event is done on a yearly basis and this was my first time to attend so I didn’t get the knack of it just yet.

Being the newbie, I was so eager to try on the clothes I wanted to purchase.  So I scurried around, looking for a fitting room.  Little did I know that there were no fitting rooms!  Not even a mirror around.  So I had to trust on my instincts and my hubby who was patient enough to see me putting on the shirts on top of what I was wearing.  Just imagine looking silly in front of other people!  For some it’s acceptable, I mean you get it a rate of 20 – 30% of the regular price.  So yes, it could be worth the humiliation.  Others on the otherhand may find this horrendous so don’t bother shopping for clothes if you don’t want to go home with tons of items that are too big, too small or just not the right fit for you.

Much to my dismay, I still managed to find good clothes at really low prices.  Shoes were nice too but not enough sizes were available.  So I didn’t bother to look further.

So far, it was a successful shopping experience.  Not the typical shopping; not the typical rates as well.

Missed it? Don’t worry, there’s still next year.  And hopefully with fitting rooms, if not, better bring a trusted friend with a good camera; wear light clothes so there’s not much bulk when you try the clothes on top of your own clothes.  And don’t forget your Emirates NBD Card and some cash.

Anyways, I was looking around DCC (Deira City Centre) for some accessories, clothes and shoes.  I found some cute accessories in Forever21 but was  not too urged to buy so I just left the store and checked out other shops.  I then went to Aldo to see if the shoes I found in Aldo (Dubai Mall) were there.  Unfortunately not.  So hubby and I continued to scour throughout the mall only to find H&M having an offer on their accessories (except handbags).

I was like a kid in a candy shop.  I found fab pieces from earrings, belts, hair accessories, bangles and necklaces.  I ended up buying 1 set of earrings which had 3 pairs of different styles for only AED11.  Added bangles and a belt.  Oh and not to forget my freebie: another set of earrings with 3 pairs of different styles.  Now isn’t it worth a side trip?
